Z is for Zen

This post is part of the A to Z Challenge. Each post will be associated with a letter of the alphabet with the theme ‘Lessons from a Wedding’.

Unfortunately...this was not meant to be.
Unfortunately…this was not meant to be.

Finally…

…the wedding was over…

…she washed all the dishes…

…she cleaned up the rest of the mess…

…she packed her MOH dress, ready to send it for dry-cleaning when she got off the plane.

She couldn’t wait to light her citronella candles, play a little Enya and just…Zen-out.

Many hours later, in the bath tub…the phone pings…

Ur sis will be having another reception in New Zealand at the end of the year. We want u to go cos we don’t want to go.

This message, from her mother, most likely supported by her father.

How was she going to explain to everyone at the reception in New Zealand at the end of the year why she was the only one there, representing the family?

Every Zen-ness that she absorbed when she lighted her citronella candles, listened to Enya and dipped in the bath tub..

…evaporated…

  1. It ain’t over till the fat lady sings!

Enjoyed this post a lot. I think she should invest in a dishwasher for the next family wedding. Either that or a compost pit and paper plates?
