Poem A Day: Of ballrooms and ballgowns

Of ballrooms and ball gowns,

Attending soirees

sipping punch,

Curtseying, waltzing,

Through the early morn,

Home before brunch.

On the shelf,

In the marriage mart,

Unmarried at twenty five.

The hunt is harried,

The burden heavy,

Spinster at twenty five.
